Praise The Lord

Jesus told us that one the main attributes of a Christian was to come to the aid of widows and orphans. In the 1730's Captain Thomas Coram was desperate to help the dozens of "foundlings" left on the streets of London every month, many left to die on garbage heaps. His appeal was often meant with deaf ears, but he persevered and that persistence paid off.  God opened the way for one of the most revered institutions in England.  This hymn is a testimony to God's goodness to those in need.
