I totally agree with Eric. There are several messages in the story of Jonah. I intend to use this as part of this week's children's sermon. Many kids know Jonah and the Whale. This will be a reminder at the beginning. The message I have chosen is God sometimes asks us to do things we don't want to do. e.g. stand up to a bully, help out with chores, visit a relative, share our time and things with others. When we follow God's will we can make a big difference in other's lives and our own.

I think that many on here are missing the point of many of these videos. They aren't intended to convey the ENTIRE message....that is the teacher or Kids Pastor's job. Many of these vids are specifically designed to be used as sermon/lesson intros......bumper vids to get the attention of the audience. Some of you guys should consider being movie critics for your local newspaper.

If we relied on video "shorts" to preach our message for us, we would be in a world of hurt. This video does an excellent job of portraying what most people know about the story of Jonah. It is up to the teacher/pastor to go beyond the basics. We must help people understand that the real miracle of Jonah was not that he was swallowed by a big fish and then spit up on dry land. The real miracle was that God was at work in a city. I will be using this video this week to set this up. Thank you!

Disagree, doesn't get the message of Jonah across at all...in fact misses the most important punch line of Jonah found in chapter 4. That is, Jonah (representing God's people) not having compassion for the lost. Something we could all have more of.
