This powerful and reflective mini-movie, The Cross, made in collaboration with Media That Matters, is the perfect illustration of the symbol of the cross and what it represents for us believers. Historically speaking, the cross was an ancient symbol of fear. A place for crucifixion. A weapon. One of the cruelest forms of execution. How did this become the eternal symbol of hope and love? A way to new life?
Jesus died on the cross for us. It was an act of love for sinners, taking our brokenness, pain and suffering and putting it all on his back. We will still endure pain and suffering, but as we each take up our own cross, God uses the perfect symbol of our frailty as the greatest sign of His strength, His Sacrifice, His power to turn what was meant for evil into the greatest good the world has ever seen and show the greatest love the world will ever know.
