When you think of Christmas, we know that visions of sugar plumbs dance in your head… but what sounds do you hear? If you’re like me, you’re singing Christmas songs in your shower all month. The traditional songs of the season are bouncing around most of our heads each December, and make up the multi-sensory experience that is Christmas.
And… at WorshipHouse… we have some great mini-movies that bring Christmas and Advent songs to life. They’re great for service openers, transitions, sermon intros, and times of reflection. Here are a few of our favorites.
Come Thou Long Expected Jesus – This brand new video from Skit Guys Studios is one of this year’s best-sellers, and is perfect for this season of Advent as we pray for the expected return of Christ. As the song progresses, scenes from Scripture are painted in time-lapse, culminating with the arrival of Jesus we’ve been expecting! Really, really cool video for your Christmas services.
O Holy Night – This video from Steelehouse is also new this year. Set to MercyMe’s rendition of O Holy Night, we read Old Testament prophecies and corresponding passages from the New Testament prior to Christ’s birth. Beautiful live-action shots bring the song, and the story, to life.
Joy to the World Service Starter – We love this new service starter from iWorship based around the Lincoln Brewster version of Joy to the World. If you’re looking for something high-energy to kick off your Christmas celebration, look no further.
O Come Let Us Adore – In this new classic from Floodgate, the familiar hymn of O Come All Ye Faithful is sung in a beautiful acapella behind faces and images of confessions, reminding us that all are called to Come to Jesus to give Him all the glory. This is a great invitation to anyone at your church who may feel unworthy to approach God this Christmas.
The Christmas Scale – The latest from Igniter Media features a well-known Christmas song, but you have to wait for the end…
